Addressing newsmen at the end of a meeting with his council of chiefs at Otari last Saturday, King Obuge also said that, a committee to workout modality for youths empowerment in the area was also set up by the chiefs.

The king described the measure as the first step towards lasting peace to the war-thorn area.

He expressed satisfaction with the level of work done so far by the various committees, pointing out that it shows that the people are ready to work with him to bring lasting peace to the kingdom.

Meanwhile, King Obuge has called on the government to declare Abua a disaster zone.

Speaking during a courtesy call on him by EE-ABUAN Investment Group, a socio-cultural organisation in the area, the king noted that the declaration of Abua as a disaster zone will pave way for the reparation of all the damages done to the area during the crisis.

The Oda-Abuan urged the group to sensitise the people on the need to avoid being used as tools for destruction by evil minded persons.

He noted that with the eventual return of peace to the kingdom, there would be no need for the people to continue to stay out of their domains.

While noting that the task before all Abuans is to join hands together in building a prosperous kingdom, King Obuge thanked the group for the visit.

Earlier, in an address read by the financial secretary of the organisation, the EELA Abuan Investment congratulated him on his recent victory at the Supreme Court.

The group also enjoined the king to set machinery in motion towards resolving all issues such as: chieftaincy, land disputes and others in the area.

They restated their unalloyed support and loyalty to his reign as the king of Abua.
